Melissa M. is one of the original members of the Delano Clarinet Choir.  During the 1994-95 school year she was part of the performing clarinet trio on which the choir is based.  Melissa plays the smallest instrument in the group, and some say because of it's size it's also one of the hardest.  Back in 1998 Melissa received the George Touchstone Music award, given each year to an outstanding eighth grade student.  She is also gifted academically, receiving top honors for the highest G.P.A. in her eighth grade year as well.  Now a high school student, Melissa continues her music as a member of the Delano High School Band.  Melissa is also an artist and enjoys Japanese anime, just like the background on this page!  She has also been a Delano Music Memorial scholarship winner and has two sisters.  The youngest, Kimberly, also plays clarinet and has recently been added as a member of the group.

The Early Years
Wet and wild!!!
Here's Melissa back in fifth grade cooling off in Mr. Morrison's pool after marching in a local parade on a hot summer day.  I don't think she'll drown wearing alll those floaties!
Wet again?
Sometimes Melissa finds the water, and other times the water finds her!!

Melissa is all smiles after a trip to Disneyland in the summer of 1999
